In the meantime, I'll figure something else out. This is really an issue that the openscad devs will have to fix eventually. Yes, I could change which monitor is default, but I don't want to, I want the taskbar on the bottom monitor. Staring up constantly gets uncomfortable. I'd really like to be able to write the code looking straight eye-level and only have to look up at the TV occasionally. Groups: dmccooey Catalan isohedron: Coordinates: In Document mccooe圜oordinates.xml: Other names: Hexakis Octahedron. This really blows, I use my (much bigger) TV as a second monitor, and a smaller screen as my main at eye-level. Understanding the main syntax is a big leap to being able to use OpenSCAD. It has a similarity to Lisp where the operators come before the parameters. If I start it in the second monitor, it freezes immediately. The main syntax of OpenSCAD is based on the underlying CSG, it is pretty unique. If I start the program and it's on the main monitor it will work fine, even if moved to the other one. Everything I've tried makes it freeze on startup. It seems that no aspect of the openscad window wants to start in the second monitor. For now you should send emails, people will see them,. I think a minkowski operation would do the same, but I fear the render time. I made a hull around 2 toroids that matched the top and bottom faces of the original tapered cylinder. I thought it worked quite well, but wanted to see if there were more efficient ways to do it. So basically the Forum is now out of date, we are looking into migrating the history. The rest of this comment describes (A) a simple extension to your library with an example on Thingiverse of one of the new shapes that would be easy to create with the extension. I can't find the config files or I'd manually edit them. Edit: Your library as stands is fine, but it can only do things that one can already do in OpenSCAD. I can drag the windows around while it's not responding, but even dragging them both to different spots, because I have to force close, doesn't do anything when I restart. Meanwhile it's not responding, both the main window in my main monitor and the editor in the second window are non-responsive. If this is a bug it's a weird one, anyone experienced this before?Įdit: In the task manager, openscad.exe is using almost 8% of my CPU but only 40MB of RAM. I can't get back in to restore the setting. It worked fine until I closed and tried to reopen OpenSCAD, now it freezes immediately when I start it and I have to force close it. I enabled the option to break out the editor window to it's own window, and I dragged the editor to my second monitor so I'd have a full screen for code.
